My Wifes ability to come to the UK

Hi, this is my first post.

I got married in the US in October. We have to start the immigration process as soon as I can show the level of income we require, which I'm working on atm. She has a daughter.

I really want to know if there is a way that she can come to the UK before that?
Can we proceed with the immigration process while she's here?
Can she and her daughter stay for a period of time with me?
And if so can her daughter go to school here?

I know this may not be possible, but as hopeless as it is we are very much in love and I am looking for a way to cut the distance down and make the time apart less.

Sorry if I'm wasting anyone's time, more serious questions will follow
