EEA Family Permit: How to Apply Online??

Post by FlyLw » Tue Dec 18, 2012 10:32 am

Hello,

I understand that the EEA Family Permit (VAF5 DEC 2008) needs to be completed online. Can someone please direct me to the place where I can fill it in? It seems to be impossible to find!

My wife was told that they will NOT accept forms filled in by hand, instead it should be filled in through the computer. So would filling in a PDF document (e.g. https://www.pdffiller.com/edit.php?id=2831053) make it acceptable? Or is the online application completely submitted online without any form printing?

Please note, this is very urgent as she has now been turned away until she has completed the form online.

Thanks for your advice!

see http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Welcome.htm

The system is currently down.

EEA Family Permit is under the "other" category.

Hi Jambo,

Thanks for the link, much appreciated!

Do you reckon that the website will be up later today?

I'm just wondering what should be done with all the supporting documents (marriage certificate, letters, passport scan), etc? Do these need to be scanned as well, as part of the online application?

No.

The submitted online application will generate a reference number which will then enable you to make an appointment.

Print out the submitted online form and sign it. Take it with you to the appointment with original documents (and copies) and photos. Check any requirements for payments etc for secure return of documents (sometimes payable by card only depending on location)

Thanks for your reply, kessers. It think it all makes sense now.

By the way, does anyone know whether traces of henna/mehndi will result in complications for the biometric finger printing?

https://www.vfs.firm.in/sp-apptsystem/a ... lcome.aspx

Important note: As part of the visa application procedure, you will need to provide biometric data which includes electronic fingerprint data. If you have temporary injuries on your fingers, please wait until the injuries have healed before you book your appointment. Henna on fingertips may also mean we are unable to get a clear scanned image, hence this should be removed or allowed to fade before your appointment date.
Good intentions are appreciated but results are what matters..
