i had an appointment this morning at 8:30. went there about 8.00, cleared security checks been asked to be seated. 10 mins later asked to go to counter.
there were only 2 counters opened at that time. this lady took my passport and verified my details. the guy from next counter came and quickly checked earning section on my application, asked if i were claiming earnings from 2 employments + self employment? i said yes then he said they coudnt give a decision today as my case being complex?!? ( he just looked at my application for few seconds and decided himself my case is very complex??)
then they asked me to take a seat. after waiting for 2 hours the same guy called me and explained they need further checks on my self employment and it will take them atleast a week to carry out these checks. i said phone numbers and email id provided on the invoice, you could contact the company today, why would it take such long when i paid for a premium service. the guy seems to be inexperienced dealing cases like this and said they need atleast a week time to give a decision. took payment, and brp. then handed me a reciept and said they will contact me within a week time with a decision.
now i could do nothing but waiting. fingers crossed.
has anybody been in similar situation? what was the outcome?

If your application is straightforward, you will normally receive a decision on the same day as your appointment - see below. If we cannot make a decision on that day (because your application requires further enquiries, or we are having technical problems), we will decide your application on the next working day or as soon as possible.

do not worry buddy.
You will be all right. They will choose two of your clients and will send them letters for earning confirmations.
The only thing to worry is hope the letters sent by UKBA reaches your client safely. Because everyone knows it is Christmas Rush.

it was cardiff i went to.
what i can gather from other people, some offices haven't got experienced case workers so they pass cases like these onto senior caseworkers in other cities. in that case my case might get delayed for at least 2 weeks i reckon.
waste of money and time paying for premium service.

home office has been in touch 3 times with the company i worked for, in the first letter they queried invoices and my company provided the information and then week later they requested company incorporation documents and they have supplied so and now for the 3rd time they sent a letter to company director's home address asking whether i actually worked or not? i don't know whether my company director have replied 3rd time?
what happens if they haven't sent reply?
Thanks

One thing is confusing ... Why are they checking invoices from the company you are employed ? not self employed.
For self employed they have to write letter to your clients to get confirmation.

Which earning part contributes to your earning band more , i mean you earning more from self employed or from employed ?
What earning band you are falling in .e.g 40+ , 50+

I don think so there should be any problem at all. The only bit i don't understand why are they checking again and again with your company that you are employed by them?

You mean you had only one client for self employed or multiple clients?
Normally they send a single letter to get response and if they have responded back already then no point to send them letters again and again.

I dont understand why UKBA sending emails to accountant and everyone in the line ... Normally they only contact your clients ... However you had only one client so they just checking everything is in order.
