How to get Normal ID in Germany?

Post by ubaidraza » Wed Dec 19, 2012 1:15 pm

Hello friends,

I am living in Germany and 17 years old. I don't have Asyl but adopt by Human rights organization since 2011. (When i am 18 years old, I will have to take Asyl) What do you think, which steps should i take to get ID (Normal Ausweis / Residency). I have been to language schools and i passed it, then i went to normal school and i couldn't study more therefore now i have appleid for a work allowed ID.

I request you to all that please share your great experience here, so i can take good steps.

(I am from Pakistan and i don't have any nationality, I am not registered also in Pakistan.)

Thanks for your help!

Reisepass (passport) and Personalausweis (national id-card) are reserved to German citizens. Before you are naturalised you will not get one of those. Since asylum seekers have by German law no right of free movement (keine freie Ortswahl; eingeschraenkte Freizuegigkeit, Residenzpflicht) anyway, such travel documents are irrelevant at this stage. What you need is an Aufenthaltsgestattung (leave to remain). There may be some differences between the federal states (*), so it would be best to get in touch with your local authority.

(*) for example, some information/documents for Saxony: http://amt24.sachsen.de/ZFinder/lebensl ... =42654!0#E
