Letter from Notary

I am on tier1 and applying for pr in jan2013 after completing my 5 yr stay.
I have almost all ready except that i have no surname printed in my passport (indian) so every time i apply for visa i attach a letter from notary that my name is tanya and tanya and tanya tanya are one and same person (i am using my first name for surname)
So my questions is the letter i used last time for extentions of tier 1 from notary - can i use the same or do i have to get one again in recent date ?!!

Any thought would be helpful!

why dont you have surname

Indian embassy nerver printed it and i never got back to have it printed - only using my first name evert time.

ive never heard of a 'notary' here.
last one should do i would assume if nothing else has changed. thats my opinion.

Yes i am in UK. I did get the last one from notary itself. I though so as these legal papers are never expiring unless change of circumstances.

well i dont know of your particular situation but my wife had a deed of change of name after she got married. so that stays valid. thats from a solicitor. im assuming a notary is something similar to a solicitor?

the letter i have got is in the form of oath/declaration in front of a witness and a notary person - which is obviously signed and stamped then n there. this was done in 2010

If that notary letter was acceptable to UK Outpost previously, I don't see why it would be any different now.

I am hoping your situation does not continue on to your current immigration documents (visa, BRP etc).

just get it again if you feel more comforatable

I am hoping too that my situation wont continue - obviously i'll have to decide how to arrange to have my surname imprinted - before i go for uk citizenship or after! I have no idea which will be benificial - Any one has any thougths on this? All i know is if i do it now - i will fall under name change category and will have to publish in news paper in indian issue and once here in london issue and then send the application to indian embassy - very long procedure.
If i rather opt out this time and wait until after citizenship ceremony - i can then have it done under english standards ?!

I beleived solicitors wont do any such documents and they do cost more than a notary for sure!

i dont think my wife was charged anything close to a 100 quid for deed of change of name. i wouldve reckoned they do the sort of stuff you're after but anyway, wont hurt to find out

What was your previous status and how many times have you extended. Did you get new notary for same name issue all time of extension.

Notary should last forever unless circumstances change. However your BRP card will use your name that used on your tier1 stamp.
