New Visa Rules Introduced

Post by FlyLw » Thu Dec 20, 2012 2:25 pm

Hi,

I just came across this on the Expat Forum:

http://www.expatforum.com/britain/new-v ... he-uk.html

Is there any official confirmation of these new changes?

"We can expect immigration to continue to fall. Home office visa statistics, which are more recent than the net migration figures, show falls of 4% in work visas, 15% in family visas, and 26% in student visas." said May.

How will these changes/stats impact EEA Family Permit's now and in the future?

Not at all!

The legislation for EEA nationals and their family members is derived from the European laws on free movement (Directive 2004/38), and has nothing to do with the UK Immigration Rules.

The poor guy that is quoted in this article should study the European legislation, as he could definitely benefit from it (no visa fees, no language test, to name just a few obvious immediate advantages).
