Hi,
I have submitted mine, my husband's and our child's passport application via Royal Mail Special Delivery but due to all the hassle we are having now, I wish we opted for the check and send.
I have received a letter from the Passport Office asking for documentary evidence for my change of name. From ABCDE with DE as my surname to ABCDE with just E as my surname. The issue is mainly the order of my name.
In my Natuiralization Certificate it stated:
Surname: DE
First and Middle Names: ABC
In my Passport Application I indicated:
Surname: E (Because I just wanted to use just my husband's surname and not a double barrelled one anymore)
First and Middle Names: ABCD
So really it is merely the order of names although all the names are indicated in the form.
So I am thinking of these 2 options:
1) Just state in my reply letter that I made a mistake in the form and it should have been DE as my Surname instead of just E because DE matches the Naturalisation certificate.
2) Or should I just submit our marriage certificate as documentary evidence.
If I do option 1, will it be possible I will be asked to re-do my form all over again and have to pay another fee ?
Your help will be much appreciated.
