Confusion about sources of income for my dependent

Post by dina123 » Wed Dec 26, 2012 1:47 pm

Hi, I am a new member to this forum and this is my first post. I therefore kindly request all the seniors to give me advice on the following topic:

I am now in Tier 1 (post study work) visa, due to expire 25 February 2013. However end of this December my 10 years time living in the UK will be completed. Very soon I shall apply for my ILR. But my wife and a little baby are also living with me for the last 8 months here in the UK and their visa are also expires same time of mine. Now questions are:
1. How can I renew their visa, under which category and when should I apply if I apply for ILR for myself?
2. Their visa was granted before July 2012 in Bangladesh but they entered the UK at the end of July. So if I apply dependent visa for them do I NEED TO SHOW MY SOURCES OF INCOME ( Which is around £23000/anum for a dependent of a permanent resident after July 2012. However I am not yet granted ILR). Do I need to show that amount of income if I want to apply just for an extension of their visa?
3. What is the total time of gaps in 10 years time to qualify for ILR?

Your wife needs to apply for FLR(M) under old rules. No financial requirements. Your baby doesn't need to apply until you get your ILR granted and the you can apply for her British citizenship using MN1 if she was born in the UK. Born-abroad child(ren) - Include child(ren) in the FLR(M) and SET(M) form(s), as dependant(s) of adult applicant. Your wife would qualify for ILR in July 2014. Further information...

NO

In total 18 months. Not more than 6 months in one go.
