Fiancé pending asylum looking for guidance

Post by Jiyn » Thu Dec 27, 2012 7:57 am

Hi,
I am a U.S. citizen and my finance is currently going through the final stages of her asylum case. If my calculations are to be correct she should be receiving her status for approved/denied with in the next 2 months. So my question is wether or not we should wait for the asylum case to close before marriage.
Are there advantages to waiting for the case to be closed before marriage?
Would it be better to apply now with only a few months remaining? (After marriage) (for status change)
If you could assist In the pros and cons of this situations it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.
