Right to work in the UK under tier 2 dependent visa

Post by nlp1181 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 11:42 am

All,

I've heard from friends/acquaintances that rules regarding the right to work for dependants of tier 2 migrant in the UK are likely to change.

As per the new rule, migrants under tier 2 dependant visa will not be allowed work. If they need to work they will need to find an employer who is willing to sponsor a separate tier 2 visa (seperate from the main applicant)

Grateful if you can clarify, if you are aware of any such changes/ rules coming up and the date when these changes are likely to be applicable.

What work your dependants can do

Your dependants are allowed to work, though your dependant cannot work as a doctor in training.

Though there are some changes came into effect from 13 December, there is nothing related to "disallowing dependants from working" as far as I know ( not an expert though !).
