Today my wifes ILR application was approved at croydon. She went to apply for ILR on her own right 6 months Wp + 4 yrs 6 months on tier1 general.
She is currently on maternity leave from jul 2012, so she claimed her earnings from jul 2011 -jun 2012. She submitted our sons birth certificate and Maternity allowance claim documents to prove her maternity absence.
She had total 165 absences from uk in 5 years, that includes her two trips 60 days and 40 days in 2008 and 2009, she simply went for longer holidays to our home country. Also she was not employed during this absence.we didn't provide any evidence for this absence and simply mentioned reason as "family visit". Also didn't bother ticking anything for question 6.3 related to evidences.
Here's how it went in the peo today
Appointment at 10 am, reached there at 9.30 and after checks, payment we were seen by the caseworker for initial assessment. Once this was done sent for biometrics.
10.15 - Now we were back to waiting area and waiting for caseworkers call.
11.20- call from caseworker and a lady just asked for the form along with all the documents we would wish to submit. She just collected everything as one bunch and told it will take 2 hrs to process the case. We said ok and decided to wait again opposite to the counters.
While we were waiting, we could see many caseworkers call the token numbers and speak to the applicants if they have any queries on the application.but my wife was never called for any queries.
1.15 pm - caseworker called her and broke the good news with all originals and approval letter.
Note- I was not part of her application, but I was allowed to be with her during the entire process.
Good luck everyone, happy to answer any queries.
