Tier 1 psw switching to tier 2

Post by NajK » Fri Dec 28, 2012 11:59 am

Hi All

I am currently holding Psw which is expiring on jan 18 2012 but i have changed my employer recently which has already provided me COS. The category they chose for me, comes under shortage occupation list provided by ukba. As i understand i m exempted from resident labour market test because i am holding tier 1 general (psw) My question is,

Do i have to show the proof of maintenance of funds?

I will be highly obliged if you can help me out on that.

Many thanks

If your sponsor is stating that he will maintain you it's not necessary for you to show this for yourself.

Many Thanks for your reply, my sponsor has selected 'No' for the maintenance of funds. i guess then its necessary for me to show the maintenance myself? i have read on ukba tier 2 section which stats that people holding work permit are exempted from this section but i am not sure what work permit they were talking about, as you know its not too easy to understand

PSW is not exempt from proving maintenance (It is not an old style work permit or a Tier 2, which is what has replaced the old style work permit). So yes, provide proof of having at least £900 held for 90 days. The proof should be dated no more than 30 days before the date of your application.
