Clarification Needed on Qn 7.3 (civil judgements) Please...

Post by varre_v » Fri Dec 28, 2012 10:52 pm

Hello Gurus,

Merry Christmas to you all! I am due to attend for ILR on 2nd week of January and completed 5 yrs of continuous residency in a combination of old WP and Tier 1 (General). I need some clarification w.r.t Qn 7.3 in the new SET(O) form:
The question is the following:
7.3. Do you or any dependants who are applying with you have any civil judgments against you or any civil penalty under the UK Immigration Acts?

What does it mean by civil judgement or civil penalty? Can someone please clarify...

The reason I am asking is because I got issued a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) by the council authority for parking my car on the yellow lines in 2010. It was fine of £35 and I have paid it online within the stipulated time and got it sorted. Do I need to declare that in response to this question?

Any advise on this matter is greatly appreciated!

Hi Gurus,

No one has replied to my posting since last 2 weeks. Can you some one clarify if PCN issued by the council authority for parking the car on yellow lines is classified as civil penalty under UK immigration acts or not?

I have the PEO appt on 14th Jan and hence the urgency

It doesn't.
Goodluck.
