can my husband travel on connecting flights without me?

Post by mrskarabucak » Sat Dec 29, 2012 4:52 am

me and my husband turkish husband are due to travel to turkey in april. The only problem is due to work commitments my husband is having to travel a few days before me. He is currently living with me in Belfast on an EEA2 family permit visa and due to belfast not having any direct flights to Istanbul this would mean a stop over in London for him.

Does anyone know if this will cause any problems?

I can't see why there would be any problem with this arrangement.

Just to clarify - your husband has a UK Residence Card and is allowed to live in the UK and travel in and out of the UK. He is not required to travel together with you. At the border he might be asked on your whereabouts and a simple "she will return in a few days. I had to return early to go back to work" is an acceptable answer. Most chances no questions would be asked anyway.

What trouble did you encounter? Was it with airline, German border people, UK border people on return?

It's a pity you encountered these problems. Did you complain?
