Self Employed- Documents

Post by Sar78 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 7:36 am

Does anyone know how long the HMRC takes from the time of registration to send the Certificate of Small Earnings, or to set up direct debit? I know the HMRC Bill is only sent in October and April, so that is out the question, and the other two options are the only ones I have for the purpose of the visa application.
The new guidance says that the Welcome Letter is acceptable as evidence, but it seems that the Application Form that was released in December does not include this option, so I'm rather confused.
I suppose I could set up a company but I have just started working as a tutor, so at this stage I'm probably more suited to sole proprietorship .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
