Hi. My Tier-1 general visa is due to expire in few days. And I don't intend to apply for extension. I plan to switch to T2 General if feasible. I seek your advice on following:
Given the short amount of time remaining, chances of getting a premium service appointment for T2G are feable. And even if I go for the postal application method, I would be able to post my T-2 application only 1 or 2 days before the date till which my current leave to remain under Tier1 is valid. So, if I do so, the home office might or might not receive the application by the last day of my current leave to remain. So, my question is:
- Even if I post the application before expiry of my current leave, Will home office reject my application if they receive the application (a working day or two) after the end of my current leave?
- When switching from T1 G to T2 G, is it required that the applicant must have current leave to remain throughout the proccessing time of the T2 G application? If the answer is no, then: 1.) during the time when the applicant's current leave to remain has expired, but the T2 G is still under processing, does the applicant have the right to live in the UK during that time? And, right to work in the UK during that time? What proof do I need to possess to be able to live/work in Uk during that time: proof that I have posted the application? or, prof
- I understand that to get ILR, one would need to spend period of 5 years in UK with continuous leave to remain. Does the waiting time for T2 G after expiry of previous leave disrupt the required continuity of leave to remain required for future ILR?
