Does having a child improve our case?

Post by mikehudson » Mon Dec 31, 2012 8:35 pm

Hi there,

My wife is pregnant in her 2nd month with our first child. We are planning to file an application for a spouse visa in which she will sponsor me. I read somewhere that having a child improves the case with the Home Office. Is this true? Shall we wait until she gives birth so we can mention that we have a child in the application? Or is this something that does not make any difference?

Thanks,

Mike

I think with the new financial requirements you will need and extra 2,500 per year if you have one child.

only if the child is also applying for a visa/leave to remain.

assuming you meet the requirements having a child makes no difference.
