SAR application form question

Post by evolutionroach » Tue Jan 01, 2013 10:21 am

hi

I have a question regarding filling the SAR form.

In section 6, there are two tick boxes saying:

Specific data/records only. Please explain in the Further Details box ...
Specific dates only. Please state ….

If I want all the documents from them, should I just tick the box of

All data held by UKBA

underneath and ignore the two tick box above?

Many thanks

Yes, tick all data held. That's it. Please share timeline of your sar request on this forum. I think it will help others.

All the best

Have you got the acknowledgement letter yet. What is the date on the letter and add 40 calendar days to it that should be the ukba target date.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

How did you filled in the "Further Detail" section:

If requesting detention records please supply the following information:
If requesting removal escort records please supply the following information:

I don't have such detention or removal experience. I believe you are in the same situation.

How did you filled this section? Did you left it blank or put N/A in them?

Also, do you know what is a "Port Reference" ? I seem only have a home office reference number.

Many thanks

Just tick ALL data !
Even the home office reference is not needed as they can pull the record from the name details you supply.

1) tick all data
2) signature (should be similiar)
3) make sure you supply two docs from list A and B
4) postal order

send 'recorded', thats what I did !
Some detention records are with the contractors the ukba might have to pull, but if your are detained(which is not the case with you) they must give it you.

Then, I think, ukba has the target date [ Saturday, 19 January 2013] !

In my case, application was sent on 5th of December and I received acknowledgement letter on 19th of December. So average two weeks time. When did you sent you SAR application ?

for a subject access report under the DPA it doesnt have to be on their form.

I have always refused to complete a company form as they are often deliberately misleading and designed so as to give them the minimum amount of work to complete.

i usuaally write:
xxxxx
xxxxx
xxxxx

Dearxxx

I wish to have a copy off all information you hold about me... I request this under the DPA 1998.

to aid you in this i have been known by the following names:
xxx
xxx

I have lived at the following addresses:
Xxx
xxx
xxx
xxx

my telephone numbers have been :
xxx
xxx
xx
xx

my records have been held by yourself using the account number / reference number(s): xxxx
xxxx

and my DOB is: xx/xx/xxxx

there may be additional information which I have forgotten about so please do not simply limit your search to using the details provided above.

my identification is attached, as is a cheque or the sum of £10 made payable to XXXX

please do not send me any company form you have compiled, as any written request is adequate. if any clarification is required please write to me ASAP. but I would expect a reply within the 40 day timelimit given in the DPA.

yours

xxxx
also, under DPA they only have 40 days from the date they recieve the written request and payment to action it and send a full reply.
