showing royalmail receipts to work as proof of visa applica

Hi everyone
Since the visa policy has got strict we have been bugged by work to provide the proof of visa application otherwise we will b suspended without pay i want to ask i am applying my tier 1 general application along with my two dependents on 2nd january means tomorrow and my visa expires on 14th jan and i am sending through post so the question is that home office i dont think will provide that early acknowledgement before 14th or on 14th so can i show my royalmail receipts as proof of application what is the legality arround this

I don't think it's a question of legality, rather than what your work would find acceptable or not. Some companies may be happy with that, others could even be happy with just telling them that you posted it. Ask your HR if that would be acceptable and what other proof they want from you that you submitted your application.
