Guru's / Moderators please advise extremely urgent

Hi All,

Happy New Year !

I was granted ILR yesterday.

I have UK born child and wife is on Tier 1 Dependents at the moment they are in India and my wife visa expires in Febraury 13. My son only holds Indian passport and doesn't have UK visa.

As my wife needs to join me as soon as possible before her visa expiry to extend her stay here, in need to apply for my son's visa as well.

I am aware that i might take long to get my sons visa from India and could be beyond February as I don't have that much time.

1) Like your advice can I apply for visit visa for my son and when he joins me here apply for MN1 and passport (or settlement visa).
2)If I apply for visit visa which one should I apply for
a)Family Visit
b)Child Visitor
c) General Visitor
3)Also the documents I need to submit for this.

Please please help me out as I don't have much time in hand.

I can't see a visit visa being granted where there is no clear intention to leave.
