Hi, thanks to everyone that has posted useful info on here, I finally got my ILR at Liverpool today. I'll start with Liverpool PEO - I have to agree with everybody else, this PEO office is pretty good, friendly professional staff, non-threatening, and seems like you are in and out with a minimum of fuss if you've prepared well.
My Situation:
* WP - T1(G) - T1(G) Extension
* 84 days absence
* Dividends from my Ltd company and also Salary from outside employment
Evidence Given:
* Payslips Stamped and Signed by Employer
* Personal bank statements
* Letter from Accountant
* Dividend Voucher Stamped and Signed by Accountant
* Business bank statements
Evidence taken but not asked for:
* Employer letter
* Business accounts for 8 month period
* Business tax return from last year
* Previous T1 and WP letters
* Professional Qualification
* Whatever P60's I managed to dig up
Timeline: (Appointment time 09.30)
09.00 - Arrive and go through Security
09.10 - Called to Payment window, then back to seats then called straight to Biometrics
09.15 - Called to Main CW who checks documents and enters them in computer while you go back to your seat. And then with no questions whatsoever:
09.55 - Called by CW and told it's been approved. Out the door by 10.00
Note: As long as you've followed the form and supplied the necessary documents there shouldn't be any reason for further questions by CW, so don't get too caught up about you think they will question you about.
My Tips:
1. Hand over only the necessary documents as spelled out in the form and guide and let the CW do what they have to do - if they need more info they'll ask for it, there's really no need to over-supply the evidence and actually it might take longer. For example, I thought I should raise something that I thought might be a problem because it was raised when I extended T1, but CW didn't even mention it.
2. Be prepared for Security Check. i.e. have all your loose coins, watch, jewellery, mobile etc in your coat pocket or bag so you don't spend a lot of time getting everything in the x-ray tray and putting them back on again. Also be prepared to hand over your cigarette lighter to the guard as you cannot take it inside.
3. Take in a bottle of water. I didn't see any water fountain or vending machine, and it can help calm you down to sip water. Plus you can get thirsty gathering your things and going from desk to desk every so often, lol.
4. PEO is 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime St Station. Looked a bit far on googlemaps and I was going to take a taxi but it's not that far really.
Lastly, before you ask, I used form version 07/2012 as no problem until after 3rd Jan. However if I did use 12/2012 I would have explained all absences as Annual Leave (not compassionate leave) and left 6.3 blank. If your absences are less than 180 days and on T1(G) there's no need for evidence such as an employer letter to confirm you were on Annual Leave - they are just asking for Reasons for the absences and Annual Leave is an acceptable reason.
Best of luck to everyone applying!
