Obtaining Passport once Settlement Application Has been Subm

I applied for a settlement visa on 6 December 2012 from Pakistan.

Unfortunately, work wants me to travel abroad in February but my passport is with the BHC.

Does anyone know of a procedure/way where I can ask for my passport without prejudicing my application?

If you request the return of your passport your application will be withdrawn with no refund of fees.
