Spouse visa or dependent visa for ILR

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this.

I have recently been granted Indefinite leave to remain. I would like to know the visa requirements for my wife to enter UK. Do I now have to apply for a spouse visa as against a dependent visa in the home country. Also for spouse visa do I need to show the £18,600 salary requirements proof example payslips, bank statements or just an employer letter will do.
Also how long long it usually takes to process such a visa. A colleague of mine who is a british citizen had to wait about 7-8 months for his partner's spouse visa to get approved.
The spouse visa holder can they take up employment as a doctor in training or nurse?
Any useful link for foreign qualified doctors/dentists on a spouse visa and options available to them to take up employment in the relevant field.
