Can you sponsor your parent to live with you in the UK even if the have other children in there home country?

It's very difficult. Age is not relevant. Incapacity and lack of assistance in that location are the qualifying factors. If you support them from the UK you can continue to do so. If they need assistance in their daily lives, you can hire a nurse or person to perform those duties.
You can apply to join a settled person in the UK if:

You need long-term personal care to perform every day tasks, such as washing and cooking.
The care you need is not available in the country where you are living, either because it is not available and there is no person in the country where you are living who can reasonably provide it or it is not affordable.
