Uncle to Sponsor

Post by naija99 » Sun Jan 06, 2013 11:00 am

Is it possible for an uncle to sponsor his 14 yr old niece from Somalia, rather than the biological father. Both are British citizens but the biological father is in receipt of DLA and doesnt believe he's in a position to sponsor financially.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes he can, however you need to be honest and tell the truth why the uncle is sponsoring her and not her father

Where is the child's mother? Who does the child live with currently? The uncle would find it difficult to sponsor the child if he is not currently responsible for her.
