What is an Umbrella Company?

Post by VirtualWaver » Sun Jan 06, 2013 7:31 pm

Hi guys,

I currently hold a Tier 1 PSW visa which expires on March, 2014. I am looking for a job in a Tier 2 registered company with an aim to work and stay further in the UK. A few days ago I find some information on the web about Umbrella Companies, that can sponsor suitable people under Tier 2 scheme. All I understood is that they can do some magic and somehow sponsor people, but I didn't catch the main idea and principles of Umbrella Companies, how they work and what they exactly do.

So, my questions are:

1) What is an Umbrella Company in detail?
2) How they work, what they do?
3) Can they do the hard work for me (find Tier 2 sponsor and help with paperwork)?
4) Do you guys know a reputable, reliable Umbrella Company that can help me?

I gave up finding a job; I was looking for it 8 months, applied 100000000 places, but nothing. It seems that I am not lucky enough :)

I will highly appreciate your responses and help.

Thanks a lot! :)
