BELFAST TO INDIA RETURN JOURNEY VIA DUBLIN - What visa reqd

Post by pavis » Sun Jan 06, 2013 8:09 pm

Hi,
I & my wife live in Northern Ireland with a valid UK Tier-1(Gen) visa. We plan to travel (From Belfast) to India and return from India via Dublin. We are sure that a visa is needed but what type of visa exactly do we require in this case? Is this multi journey since we will enter Ireland twice , once on each direction.

Can anyone plesae advise if this is possible in my case, and if so what would be the visa requirements?

Thank you
pavis.

Sorry This topic doesnt belong here I guess.

Anyways if you stopping over in dublin for visit then you may need a visa, if you are staying in airport the you dont need any visa.

Hi kpk, sorry I will repost this in the appropriate forum.

Since it is road travel from Belfast to Dublin Airport, it seems that a visa will be required.

Thanks for your reply.

you will need a multi entry visa. I did the same last year. belfast-dublin-india, back same route. if you apply visa via post you will get it in a week.

i had inquired with Irish embassy, quoting from their reply:

Reply from visamail@justice.ie :

The first step of the visa application process is the completion of an
online application form, which can be accessed via the following link:
https://www.visas.inis.gov.ie. The signed two page summary sheet, along
with all the required supporting documentation must then be submitted to
the Visa Office/Embassy/Honorary Consulate as indicated on the summary
sheet, contacts for which can be found on:
http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=285

Information when making a visa application can be found on the Irish
Naturalisation and Immigration Services website:

http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Ir ... nformation

Thank you sts. I too got a similar reply 2 days ago to my enquiry with irish embassy. When you say 'apply via post' hope it means filling online appln and send the summary/docs via post.

Which Visa Required belfast-dublin-india & return

I was trying to fill Multi-Entry Application Form. It is asking about accomodation details in Dublin.
For Re-entry Visa, it is asking about Ireland Address & GARDA Registration Number. It seems this Visa is for IRISH VISA holders. Can you please give little more details of which Irish VISA Application form need to be filled. & What supporting Documents are required? Does it required Travel Tkts & Dublin Accomodation Details too?

I live in Belfast & having UK Work Visa.

it doesn't require hotel booking details if you provide airline tickets. just mention in the cover letter your itinerary.

i don't know how the online form is now, but i had applied for a visit visa and was not asked for garda registration number.

btw, current processing times are 3 weeks, a friend got it in 3 weeks last month.
