BRP - how long does it take

I have a Peo for tier 2 change of employer within uk.

Can someone please guide me on how much time it is currently taking for the BRP to arrive.

I know the normal time is 10 working days. But, it has been taking long for those who applied in December.

As far as I know usually it shouldn't take more than 3 working days.. but it took 15 working days for me during december as it was festive period ...

Hi,

I'm currrently on PSW and already have a BRP, which I got when I got my PSW visa in February 2012. I'm thinking of converting to Tier 2-Employee sponsored visa. My questions is whether I need to do biometrics again or will my information be transferred to the new BRP card automatically by UKBA?

I'm only asking as I need to estimate the time my passport will be away from me if I need to do biometrics again.
