discretionary leave to remain

Post by vparvi » Tue Jan 08, 2013 10:34 am

Hi we were in the country for 8.5 years legally, but couldn't renew our visas and our lawyer informed us to apply under child concession law which was available at the time. The home office waited for a year and half till the child concession law was removed and decided to remove us from the country. We decided to apply for asylum and granted discretionary leave for 3 years. The 3 years has now passed and we have been in this country for more than 13 years now. As instructed by home office we applied using the discretionary leave to reamain form and waiting for a response from them. It has been 6 months without response, wanted to know how long do you reckon we have to wait for a response and what is the likelihood of getting an indefinite leave to remain? thanks. Can somebody please answer this message
