Documents for Visit Visa

Post by swismo » Wed Jan 09, 2013 10:44 am

Hi,

I'll be applying for a Visit Visa to the UK from India (Indian Citizen). I have checked their site on documents. There is no clear mention of how old the financial documents (such as bank statements) can be.

My question is - is there a hard and fast rule about the documents being something like 30 days old or can I produce documents that are a little older - say - 35-40 days? Of course I am not talking about months old documents.

The question arises due to the timing issue of visa interview date.

Thanks in advance

If you are applying from India it would be sensible to submit your most recent bank statement. Obviously when a sponsor sends his there is a slight delay that allows for them to be sent to India.

Thank you pennylessinindia.

I am talking about the sponsor documents. The dates are becoming a little tricky as the bank statement comes by 6th / 7th of the month and if I keep good lead time for the documents to be sent back to me, it may be a little more than a month from the date of the document.

And do they accept scanned documents - sent electronically, which I print and carry?

A little delay for sponsors would be fine, as folk are aware that documents take time to come. Best to use original
