Tier 1 - extension Help needed

Post by senthil123 » Wed Jan 09, 2013 11:00 am

Hello everyone,

My tier-1 visa expiers on the last week of Feb and am planning to go for extension through premium service by the end of this month. I have few questions that I need clarification on.

1) I got my initial Tier 1 visa on Feb 2010 (3 yrs). I had a look at the approval letter that I got from the Home office yesterday and I noticed something which I am not clear. In the 'Qualifications' section on that letter, it says that Points claimed - 35 and Points awarded - 25. I showed my Master's degree and am not sure why they awarded only 25.

2) Whenever I moved flats, I forgot to update my address with the HMRC. Finally I updated my address and found that I still owe the HMRC some money in Tax. Based on the conversations I had with them, I was informed that they will automatically detect it from my salary from april. My questions is will this affect my application. I am salaried full time employee.

Thanks in advance

1. First step would be to check your qualification on the points calculator and see how many points you are awarded.
2. Generally this shouldn't be a problem as you have arrangements with HMRC.

Thanks mulderpf for the response.
In the points calculator, 35 points is awarded. But not sure why they awarded only 25 last time and I didn't notice it until now. I probably didn't worry about it as I got my initial visa. My only worry is that whether this will affect me during my extension.

I scanned through the PEO's experiences, but there aren't many people who shared their experience in Sheffield.
Can someone shed some light on the overall PEO experience in Sheffield?

On a final note - I want to appreciate the effort many of you are putting in this forum by answering many peoples question.
:)
