Sorry, firstly a correction in my question quoted above, I meant 06-Jan-2013 (I think you probably guessed that)...but even then why do you say 05-Feb-2013 instead? Is it because of the following requirements?asim72 wrote:1) Can I apply using form AN anytime after 06-Jan-2012?
NO. You cannot apply before 5th Feb 2012
Jambo wrote:You can apply from 05-01-2013 so any day from now.

2) I own a property in India..what happens to my ownership status when I renounce Indian citizenship, considering India doesn't allow dual citizenship?
Not a UK immigration question, or anything to do with any processes in UK. Take legal advice from India.
3) In the list for professional referees, can I use an HR manager in my employer company which is a publicly listed pvt company based on the category "Manager/Personnel officer (of limited company)" written in the doc here. I have been employed with them for the past 9 years overall (6 years in UK).
Yes
4) Any other general advice based on my situation and repercussions of naturalization would be greatly appreciated. Post receipt of a British Passport I'm hoping to get an OCI to be able to travel to India..
You get a shiny red passport, instead of that disgusting blue stressed out Indian passport which has pictures of animals on it.
I request Mods to please keep an eye & take appropriate action on any derogatory remarks hurting public sentiments. Personally, I'm really proud of the emblem on the Indian passport/OCI booklet.asim72 wrote:4) Any other general advice based on my situation and repercussions of naturalization would be greatly appreciated. Non Resident Indians can continue to hold assets in India. However, once you have become a British Citizen and obtained OCI, you may not hold any agricultural properties in India.malepiscean wrote: 2) I own a property in India..what happens to my ownership status when I renounce Indian citizenship, considering India doesn't allow dual citizenship?
