Potential issue with bank statements??

Post by imranh » Fri Jan 11, 2013 4:17 pm

Hi Everyone

I could have a potential issue with my bank statements that I shall be submitting for my wife's ILR case as proof of our adequate finances.

Basically, I currently have bank statements upto 25th November 2012 and I have a PEO appointment booked in a less than a couple of weeks on 23rd January.

By now I was expecting to have my December statement but I thought due to Christmas holidays it would slightly delayed so I waited until today (big mistake!!!!).

I just rung my bank to inform them that I have not yet received the December statement and I needed it asap. However I have been advised that my statement could take 7-10 working days which not only left me bemused but also the statement may not arrive before 23rd January for our PEO appointment.

So, if my statement does not arrive in time, Am I OK to include bank statements until November 2012 for the PEO appointment or do they want my bank statements as up to date as possible??

Many Thanks
Kind Regards

Local branch should help, try to find decent person from staff and ask for print outs, they do this in exceptional cases, bear in mind they should be on bank headed paper, stamped and signed. Generally banks should do this with no hassle for last three months.

Good luck.

Doesn't have to be a headed paper with logo etc.

Plain printouts (like Barclays kiosks prints), but STAMPED and SIGNED.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

thanks for the responses. much appreciated. I will visit the branch tomorrow and see if they can help me.

so I guess from your responses that if I don't act and just submit bank statements up to November 2012 then our ILR application could be rejected??

Better be, but if you mean "mini-statements from automatic teller machines (ATMs)", they are not permitted as per rules.

It all depends on requirements on your application. For instance, for WP it has to be not older that 1 month, for Tier G1 - any consecutive 12 out of last 15.

Please refer to guidance, rules. If it is for maintenance funds, I think it is better to have latest possible (peace of mind).

Barclays account holders are familiar with Kiosk prints. I am not sure about other banks. These printout are similar to what the bank person would print out for you, instead you do it yourself. All prints on A4 paper.

How do I know - I used it. And posed the question to CW, who said CW's were familiar with such printouts, and with stamp/signature is acceptable.

And definitely not ATM printouts.

If you bank with HSBC, they can have the statements delivered to a nearest branch of your choice in 2 working days. If it's your home address then it may take 5-7 working days.
