Applying inside the UK on the day of expiry date

Hello,

I got my reference number from my employee couple of days ago and started to gather my documents. I will apply for the Tier 2 General inside the UK.

I am switching from Tier 4.

My visa expiries in 16th of January.

I believe I can send my documents by post for the visa application on 15th or 16th of Jan.

In that case should i provide any evidence the reason I applied late?
Or is it ok to apply anytime before overstaying 28 days.

I believe my application date will be the time I gave my biometrics which will be about 26-27th of January. Is it correct?

Can anyone suggest or comment on this situation?

I read from the UKBA site that the application date is the date you submit your application online and pay your fee online.

And the application becomes VALID when you enroll for the biometrics.

This means if i submit my application before 16th of January, it wont be a problem. Can anyone confirm this?

In that case should i provide any evidence the reason I applied late? if you send your application on 16 Jan or earlier it will not be late

Or is it ok to apply anytime before overstaying 28 days.no, this is not allowed for T4 migrants switching to T2G. You must have valid leave at the time of the application
