Need advice for a complicated situation

Hi
I'm trying to find out if there is anyway my mate who has overstayed his visa for over 2 yrs can sort the mess he has got himself in.
He was on student visa and tried to renew it ,sent the application to home office but failed to pay the visa fee and sincethen his visa and passport which is with home office must be expired
Meanwhile he carried on working and paying taxes which I think he was very lucky doing as his status probably didnt allow him to be employed.
Anyway he explained that his passport must have expired now and obviously same with his visa ( both are probably still with home office ) and now he isn't working but is having a baby with his partner who is British ,she is pregnant and had to start claiming benefits as she can't work anymore .
So in brief he sent his application for renewal didnt pay fee to home office passport and visa must b expired which are still with home office as he moved and now after 2 yrs cause he is having a baby and is with his partner for over a yr wants to sort his immigration status .
Is there anyway this guy can sort his mess and get proper visa and a new passport while living here and taking care of his new born baby

I suggest he seek professional advice. This is not a case that can be resolved by advice from an Internet forum.

His wife is British national and he has been in England for past 10 years ,he was on student visa till 2009 and that's when he sent d application in .

He has no access to Internet so I'm helping him ,I got all the information which I tried to explain to my fullest understanding but if you think there is in particular he needs to post I can ask him and post it for him but would you be kind enough to explain wa exactly shud he b posting

Thanks for that suggestion much appreciated .when I looked for him on the Internet I gathered the same but he wants me to find out exactly wa r his options and which direction he shud go from here as he is clueless now.

When you say he failed to pay the fee, it would be helpful to give the mechanical details involved - what was his payment method, was the payment request returned by bank due to insufficient fund, etc.

Ill explain wa he told me exactly
So he sent the application n the money in d bank ready to be debited ,but then he used d money and when home office cudnt take the payment he got a letter to reapply .then he reapplied but never had money to pay it again n moved out n left the application ,passport n everything with HO as he was scared n didn't know wa to do.
It was meant to b taken from his account so it wud have been direct debit I think and yes it must have been returned as insufficient funds .

I am tryin to help this guy he ain't even my mate really yes I know him n he asked me if there is anything I can do for him n I am on it n if u findit hard to help someone who made a mistake its cool but I know people like me don't care bout unnecessary stuff like that n I'm sure there r plenty of people who wud like to help .

He would need to seek professional help, as there are questions only ge can answer, and he needs to be personally aware of his situation/options by his own participation, not via a good hearted medium like yourself. This is for his own good.

A lot of 'experts' here in this forum are self made (like myself), and would not be very fluent with the law to a degree more than the generic application for basic immigration purposes.

Iam not trying to be funny, no disrespect and dont feel bad,
when you said he used his money for gambling while ukba tried to take money from his a/c.

I stick to my point that apart from Legal advice no one can comeforward to help in this forum.

Hi so I was wondering that if my mate who has a 10 day old baby registered n all with all his details and circumstances as explained before can get some guidance how to proceed or should he just go to a solicitor cause he desperately needs to sort his situation out
