Points claim PBS Application of T1 extension

Hi,

A very basic question regarding the PBS.

Do the UKBA consider the points claimed on the date of submission of application or is it the date when they process the application?

The reason for asksing this question is as when I will be submitting the application for T1 extension I am entitled to claim 10 points against my age before 1st Feb 2013. I have observed at this forum that in normal situation the UKBA takes more than 3-4 months to process the application. If they consider the processing date as the time for point claims under PBS, then I may be eligible for only 5 points against the age.

Could anyone please advise how the points claim work under PBS (Is it the date of submission of application or date of processing of application?
