Continious Economic Activity

Post by brajen » Sat Jan 12, 2013 11:17 pm

Guys,

I'm bit confused with continued business activity. Is that the meaning that if we declare the income in first year, must be continued over the five year. I want to me sure whether the income can fluctuate over these period. ?

Any expert please?

Are you referring to the requirement that some ILR applicants need to demonstrate that they have been "Economically Active" during their 5 year residence here? Or when you say "continued business activity" are you referring to something else under the T1G Application process? If so can you elaborate to clarify what you are referring to?

.

Cs95, Thanks for your instant response. I mean one of the core requirements to meet the ILR application, the applicant should be economically active over the period. Please can you explain in details? My accountant does not know anything about this!

There is no requirement that you need to be employed throughout the entire 5 years & that your income needs to be constant. Usually providing your P60's or HMRC employment history statement covering the 5 years would suffice to prove that you were economically active during your residence.

Thank you very much CS95. So , you say that income can fluctuate to any level other than the application year. Because, in my second year, my income went to very low level(1/4 of my band) due to I lost my JOB, Later before my second extension I was able to find the job and satisfied my band. will this affect my ILR application?. My accountant is not capable of answering this question. Thanks for your valuable information.

No, it won't. Note, you will however need to meet the previous earnings requirement at the time you apply for ILR, if you are applying under one of the PBS immigration categories.
