Parliamentary inquiry into new family migration rules

Post by Nicola1 » Tue Jan 15, 2013 7:33 am

This parliamentary inquiry, launched on 20 November 2012, will explore the impacts of new rules on family migration. It will specifically focus on changes which make it more difficult to sponsor spouses and partners, or elderly dependents, to come to the UK from outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

The inquiry is led by a cross-party Committee of MPs and peers, coordinated by the APPG on Migration, and chaired by shadow Equalities Minister Kate Green MP.

Call for written evidence

The inquiry will collect written evidence during an eleven week period beginning on 20 November 2012. Submissions are welcomed from charities, analysts, lawyers, employers, trades unions and other sources of relevant evidence. Individuals who have direct experience of the new family migration rules, as well as support organisations and advisers, are particularly invited to share their views.

This is about changes in the Immigration Rules, which do not affect EEA nationals and their family members.
The EEA Regulations do not change, and are not part of this inquiry.

May be a moderator can move this thread to a more appropriate part of the forum?
