Tier 4 dependant- is there anything wrong?!

Post by hjaffer » Tue Jan 15, 2013 2:29 pm

Hi.. I'm new to this forum and searched for something for my issue but no luck...

I have submitted a tier 4 dependant application for my wife late in October 2012. We were asked to do the Biometric data at the beginning of December and we did so. However, we're still waiting for her documents- including passport- since then. It has been nearly 14 weeks since the application was submitted.

Is there anything wrong? How can I contact the UKBA by phone to figure out the status of the application?

Cheers

I tried calling the number provided on the help text document (i.e. 01142074074) but the answer machine told me to refer back to the website. There are no options to select from as the line cuts after the message!

Is there any other way to follow up on this?

Personally i wouldn't trust someone who has just joined the forum and posted the same thing a dozen times. You can chase the application yourself- although there is no need at this stage (unless you have an urgent need to travel.)
You need to go an the date that biometrics were given which was only a few weeks ago (and factor in Christmas, new year and snow days).

No organisation such as the one after some free advertising here will be able to speed up your application at this stage.

Thanks Greenie. I had the same feeling. It is an urgent need to travel and I have submitted the ROD request twice but heard nothing till now. Do you suggest me doing something? How do you recommend to chase this? I have already talked to the UKBA on 08706067766 twice but that didn't help.

Have you spoken to the visa/immigration advisors at kaplan? They should be able to contact ukba on your behalf.

Already tried it. They said they don't offer student support for these issues as they don't have international stdents' advisors to do this.

Ridiculous when almost all their students are international!
When did you request your passport back and how?

The first time I requested return of documents was November 21st through the ROD request form. The second time was few days ago upon recommendation from the UKBA when I called the same phone number.

Hello everyone,

You cannot request a RETURN OF DOCUMENTS if you are the main applicant. You need to emphasis to the UK Border Agency that you are not withdrawing your application.

If you are the main applicant and if you request a return of documents the UK Border Agency can treat it as if you wish to withdraw your visa application! DO NOT DO THAT!

What you should do is request the UK Border Agency to expedite an urgent decision on your visa application due to your exceptional circumstances. We at Visa Chase Up can help you with that.... Search for us on VisaChaseUp.com

Kind Regards,
Salman S. Zafar

My wife finally got the documents. How long does she have to leave the country?

Remember I applied for a tier 4 dependant.
