MN1 - references

Post by shweta.duggal » Tue Jan 15, 2013 2:42 pm

Hi,

I just went to health visitor to get signed the MN1 form. unfortunately, she turned out to be an employee of Home Office.

My child does not go to school so cannot have teacher as referee.

Can a family support worker be considered as social worker?

who come under minister of religion? I'm Hindu.

Please suggest me.

Thanks

You cannot use family support worker as referee. Please check list of acceptable referees by HO.

You can use your bank/building Society Official, Nurse, or any Solicitor. Good luck.

Sorry I am bit confused. For MN1 it is clearly mentioned in Guide that

One referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion.

Can I use Nurse in this case?

Second referee I would using as profession which falls in above mention category.

i called my GP and what i was told is :-
a) for getting GP /nurse signed the form, one should be registered with GP for min 3 years. in my case my child is 2.4 years

b) they will charge £20 to sign the form. has anyone paid for teh signature before?

Don't worry, your GP/Nurse can give you reference even your child is not 3years old yet. Yes i paid £10 to my GP for reference letter.
