UKBA visa processing times

Post by kumar2012 » Wed Jan 16, 2013 1:30 am

Looking at Processing times for Settlement Visas in Dec 2012.

For example please look at Colombo, Sri Lanka Processing Times:

A total of 20 decisions were made in Dec 2012. 20% of 20 (4 decisions) were made before 60 working days... 80% (including the 20% mentioned) of 20 (16 decisions) were made before 120 days... What has happened to the remaining 4 decisions?

Does this mean the 12 decisions that took about 120 days were the applications made around July 2012?

Processing this data is confusing and misleading, making it useless.

Nov 2012 processing times for Colombo showed a total 44 Settlement decisions.

There is a considerable reduction in decision making, leading to longer processing times...

But, I might have got all this wrong!

Two thoughts ...

1) the remaining ones took longer than 120 days?

2) Perhaps there were less applications?

Hi MPH80,

1. the total number (20) were the number of decisions made in Dec 2012. So, it should have been included in the 120 days or more section. The total umber of decisions and the cumulative percentages do not add up.

2. The data does not state or imply the number of applications made at any given time.

The data is misleading...

But equally you are drawing conclusions from the incomplete data.

My point is that if the data isn't reliable - don't jump to the conclusion that there's a slow down in processing ... perhaps it's just that there is less coming in.

You have no evidence either way.

I would assume that the remaining 20% took longer than 120 working days.
