Tier 1 Fast track options

I applied for Tier 1 extension in October 2012 (Visa expiring in Dec 2012).

I completed Biometrics last week.

Question: Is Fast tracking my application possible / Advisable?
I am required to travel overseas - work related , sponsored by my employer and wondered if I should submit a request?

Does anyone have any prior experience and if so, please can you share relevant info.

I think there is no harm in asking HO for urgent treatment, why not write a letter to Home Office explaining your situation and depends on case-worker this may speed up your application process.
