Kids British citizenship application processing time

Post by diwakar21 » Thu Jan 17, 2013 3:18 pm

Dear friends,
My daughter is UK born and I am planning to apply for my daughter's British citizenship after my ILR which is due in next couple of weeks. Can any one please let me know how much time it takes to get my daughter's British passport from the date of application. Appreciate your response on this.

Many Thanks,
Diw

Thanks wpilr_nov12,
I was going through the link you specified in your last reply and understand about the registration, that means I should register my daughter first as a British citizen, after receiving the registration certificate, I should to apply for British passport. Is that correct?

Regards,
Diw

If that is your child's eligibility route, your understanding is correct.

Hi diwakr21,

You should register your daughter after getting your ILR if she is born in the UK and you have to apply for Naturalization as a British Citizens not for British passport. You can apply British Passport once you received you British Nationality by naturalization.
