unmarried couple sponsering parents

Post by angel87 » Thu Jan 17, 2013 8:20 pm

myself and my partner wish to sponser my parents from india on a 2 year multiple entry visa.
we have a child together who is 2.5 years old but are not married yet.

we have a tenancy agreement in my partners name.
i have 6 months payslips and contract from work.
invitation lettter fro parents.
we have a bank balance of roughly £1500-£2000
copies of both our passports and daughters birth certificate.

is there anything else we need?

my parents will also be showing they have property there and some finances too.

have i missed anything and is there any form i need t fill for this? does it make a difference if me and my partner dont have any documents in joint name?

thankyou in advance

For a start it is unlikely your parents will be granted a 2 yrs visa on their first application.People who are granted this is some one who has probably been once or twice on a 6 months visa first and have returned back home within the time period. My advise would be to apply for a si x months on the firsts occasion

Secondly joint sponsorship for visitors visa is not allowed. One person must be the main sponsor ( preferably the ones whose parents they are and the one is working). You can have things like tenancy agreement in joint names etc.

Thirdly you have to give good reasons why they are coming, that you can financially support them and most importantly they have to show they will return home after the visit,You will need to provide documentary evidence of the above.

The applicant will nee fill this form

they have been previously over last 15 years on several occasions and were granted 2 year visa 8 years ago and since have been granted 6 month visa in 2011.

its my parents and i am the one working but the tenancy agreement is only in my partners name. this is why we thought to do joint appication...how can we get around this?

T.A being in your partners name will not be a problem, as long as you can prove he is your partner and that you live together(joint bill of any sort should suffice)
