Partner has been granted ILR, what are my options?

Post by Mgaglardi » Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:37 am

Both my partner and I are Canadian Citizens.

He recently was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain and I am currently on a tier 5 youth mobility visa which expires in Feb 2014.

I am hoping to find some options here on what I can do next to continue to stay in the UK after my visa expires.

Since the rules on Tier 2 visas are becoming more strict and the fact I do not have a unique profession (I am a Marketing Manager making around £30000 annually) I do not see Tier 2 as an option - if it is please advise.

Looking at a fiancé or marriage visa has come up, would I have to return to Canada to apply for these? What is the suggested time process of this?

Many thanks,

M
