Tier 1 (Gen) dependent prospects in UK as dentist (BDS, MDS)

Post by vivid_guy_007 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 11:28 am

Hi,

I want to enquire about the prospects of someone who has done BDS from India followed by MDS in Oral pathology and microbiology (again from India). Though she has some academic experience teaching dentistry but as per ORE requirements she does not meet the criteria of 1600 hours of clinical experience.

The person in question would be entering UK on Tier 1 (Gen) dependent visa where primary visa has restriction of not being able to serve as sportsperson and doctor/dentist in training.

Can someone who has faced similar situation or have info through other channels, shed some light on career opportunities for such candidates.

Any help in this regard is much appreciated.

Thanks
R

We are not employers in the dental sector so not qualified to make assertions. Basically, if she can find a position without the need for any training to fulfil that role, she should be fine.

Thanks for your response but (a) does that not require GDC approval or appearing for ORE at the least, (b) are there any public/private dentist jobs without a training component at all.

Not immigration matters so perhaps you are in the wrong forum.
