Non-EU national EEA 2 Permit holder Single parent of BC

Post by Calyx273 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 3:05 pm

Status: Non-EU national EEA 2 Permit holder Single parent of small british citizen with no recourse to public funds.

My question is wether I would qualify and receive housing benefit?

might be worthwhile speaking to council in your local area...

they have a discretionary fund that they can use if they choose to and you dont qualiy for housing benefit...

(im not sure if you qualify or not sorry) but local authority will be able to help. = just go to the council office and speak to them - you dont usually need an appointment, but waiting time could be an hour or three.

i have a quick question for you too OP... are you allowed to work ? - my wife is going the EEA2 route as main carer of 2 british children (and myself). [however only filled form in for our 5 month old but included a full detailed letter etc too]

i am "unfit to take care of children" on my own (dr will write a letter to state the same if the ukba request it - i wrote a letter confirming that they have access to my medical records for such purposes should it be required and included prescrition list from dr etc - so hoping it goes well, if not, JR should help)

but, if its sucessful.. is she likely to be able to work?

how long have you been in the uk? - do you qualify for PR after 5 years... or is it the 10 year "family/private life" route.

Sorry if you arent sure about rest of it though... :P

You need to visit your local benefit office to inquire about your eligibility for claiming benefit.
Please donot send PM. Write in open forum to facilitate others too.
