applying for an irish visa for non-eea family member....?

Post by wiggsy » Mon Jan 21, 2013 4:02 pm

Hey,

just in case our EEA2 application fails for my wife, i would like to know how we get an irish visa for her.

I and children have british passports. i called the irish embasy and explained our case, that i want to work in ireland (self employed) etc, and they said the problem is my wife would need leave to remain in the uk to apply for a visa of an eea family member.

the problem is, my wife only has Tempory admission granted by UKBA, so its not valid leave to remain.

do we turn up to ireland with her passport/my passport and my self employed (uk) details and she get a stamp, or?

also...

medical insurance.

NHS will cover the cost of health care in ireland...
do we need health insurance still to be considered "self sufficient"? - my self and wife have nhs excemption certificates (tax credits) - and my wife being married to british citizen is entitled to free healthcare etc...

if anybody can point us in the right direction here please?

cheers.

This will apply if you decide to stay(after the initial 3 months)........ you also have the option of studying.

You don't need to worry, you will invoke EU Immigration Law which will be very helpful.

Read this thread..........hope your questions are answered;

If you are in the UK, I don't think you need a Visa to travel to Ireland(I mean your wife not you) when you decide to settle here that's when all the questions will crop up when registering for residency.

This thread has a similar question;
