Important question regarding my application this week

Post by Columbo1 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 10:31 pm

Hi there,

My first post and I have two questions I hope you can help me with.

I'm on the Tier 1 (General) category and am about to apply for my 'Indefinite Leave To Remain in the UK' Visa this week.

Firstly, do I need to bring/prove five years worth of employment history through company letters, or is it just sufficient to provide a year's worth of payslips and bank statements on the day, as you need them to obtain the points anyway?

Secondly, what level of evidence do I need, to prove the reason for each time I left the UK over the past five years (e.g. holiday, business trip etc)?

Any help you guys can offer is much appreciated, as my appointment is fast approaching. :D

1) No, 5 years of employment history is not required. But do read the SET(O) form and guidance to understand what you require for evidence towards previous earnings. (12 consecutive months of pay slips and bank statements for the period you plan to use towards previous earnings points would be fine for this.)
2) As a T1G migrant, you do not require evidence or employer letters for annual leave or business related absences. If however you have any absences due to serious or compelling compassionate reasons then you will need a personal letter and supporting evidence.

If you want, you can take your P60's with you to provide in the event a case worker requests them to prove that you were economically active during your 5 year residence. Note but this is not an absolute requirement.
