Following the recommendation i received on this forum, i applied for DLR (Discretionary Leave to Remain) exercising my right to access to my british child.
I had been an overstayer for a number of years and had stopped going to sign at the immogration offices in Hounslow. Technically speaken i was an obsconder.
My application was sent on the 7th July 2012 and i received notification from UKBA on the 17th (10 days later). They advised not to get in touch and if there was any further info required they would get in touch.
My concern now is that i have not received any letter asking me to go for fingerprints, it's been 6 months now. I sent my blank passport, my daughters british passport and her original BC, pictures of us, a letter from my girlfriend stating my active involvement in my daughter's life.
My girlfriend and i do not live together but i'm regularly at her house as i have to stay with our baby whilst she goes to work.
My question is do you think my history of being an overstayer has affected my application? I was told that my new application will be considered as a change of circumstance and the past immigration history will not matter much as long as i was not involved in criminal activities and known by the police.
How can i get in touch with UKBA to check my application?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards!
